Buyer FAQs

1. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit/debit cards and secure online payment gateways. All transactions are encrypted for safety.

2. How do I know my payment is secure?
Payments are processed through trusted third-party providers using industry-standard encryption to protect your financial information.

3. Can I buy products if I live outside Haiti?
Currently, Maket Ayisyen only supports local transactions. Buyers must be in the same country as the seller (U.S. or Haiti). International shipping is not available.

4. How do I track my order?
Once your order ships, tracking information will be available in your account dashboard. You can monitor your package from shipment to delivery.

5. What if my product arrives damaged?
If a product arrives damaged, contact the seller immediately. If unresolved, you may open a dispute on the platform, and our team will review your case.

6. Can I cancel an order before it ships?
Yes, orders can be canceled before the seller ships. After shipment, cancellation is no longer possible, but you may request a return if eligible.

7. How do refunds work?
Approved refunds are processed within 7–10 business days and issued to the original payment method.

8. Are there buyer protection guarantees?
Yes. Buyer protection covers items not received, significantly different from the description, or cases involving fraudulent sellers.

9. How do I become a seller?
Sign up for a vendor account, set up your storefront, and start uploading products.

10. Are there fees to sell on Maket Ayisyen?
Maket Ayisyen charges platform fees based on sales. Details are available during registration and in the seller dashboard.

11. How are payouts handled?
Payments are securely processed with a clear payout schedule. Sellers receive funds after the transaction is completed and verified.

12. What products are prohibited?
Illegal goods, counterfeit items, weapons, toxic or harmful materials, and items violating intellectual property laws are prohibited.

13. How do I set my shipping costs?
Sellers define shipping costs for buyers in their own country. All listings must reflect accurate delivery charges.

14. What if a buyer disputes my product?
Both parties provide evidence, and our dispute team reviews the case within 14 business days to make a fair decision.

15. Can I customize my storefront?
Yes. Sellers can add a logo, storefront name, story, and featured products to personalize their shop.

16. How can I grow sales on the platform?
Use promotional tools, featured listings, and analytics to optimize product offerings and reach more buyers.

17. Are international buyers allowed?
No. Buyers must be in the same country as the seller to complete a transaction.

18. What happens if I miss a shipping deadline?
Sellers are responsible for timely shipment. Repeated missed deadlines may result in warnings or account restrictions.

We verify sellers and encourage detailed listings, product photos, and reviews to maintain trust and authenticity.

20. Can organizations or co-ops join as sellers?
Yes. Groups, cooperatives, and organizations can create vendor accounts to sell their products.

21. How do you protect my data?
All personal and payment information is protected using secure encryption, industry-standard protocols, and compliance with privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA).

22. Do you work with the Haitian diaspora?
Yes. Maket Ayisyen welcomes sellers and buyers from the Haitian diaspora, provided transactions occur within the same country.

23. What languages does the platform support?
Currently, Maket Ayisyen supports English and Haitian Creole to serve our diverse community.
